The Illinois Sheriffs' Association announces that it will be awarding over $58,000 in college scholarships throughout the State of Illinois to students wishing to pursue higher education during the 2026-2027 academic year.  The scholarships are to be applied to tuition, books, and fees only.  The sudent must be enrolled full-time at a certified institution of higher learning.  Online learning is also acceptable.

To be considered for this position, candidates must complete the NTN Law Enforcement exam.  This position also requires a Department Application that can be found here.  Successful Candidates will be required to attend the State of IL Police Academy.

Beginning January 1, 2025, the DeWitt County Sheriff's Office will no longer be conducting Sheriff Sales in the lobby of the Sheriff's Office.  All forclosure sales will be conducted on Roup.com.  Roup will increase visibility, transparency and tax revenue for DeWitt County.  Please try out our new site, as our first property has been listed.
