The DeWitt County Sheriff's Office is Accepting Applications for Deputy Sheriff

To be considered for this position, candidates must complete the NTN Law Enforcement exam.  This position also requires a Department Application that can be found here.  Successful Candidates will be required to attend the State of IL Police Academy.

Lateral Transfers are defined as an Officer who is currently employed as a full time law enforcement (peace) officer in a Sheriff's Office, Police Department, or other law enforcement agency for a minimum of twenty four (24) consecutive months with a single law enforcement agency and have  completed  that agency's reqired probationary period.  Lateral Transfers are not required to attend the Corrections Academy.

Starting Salary:  26.23 an hour

Job Requirements:

Age 21

US Citizenship

High School Grad/GED

Valid Illinois State Driver's License

Ability to Read/Speak English

No Felony Convictions
